Hating is trending! There is a culture that approves of and endorses the act of telling others that there is something wrong with them, as if, there isn’t something wrong with all of us. I too have been guilty of it and as I look back of some of my old comedy clips, I feel sorry for myself for falling into the trap, I know better. Now that I am on the receiving end of this lashing, I understand that no matter who you are, it doesn’t feel good.
Anyway allow me to proceed, without sounding preachy, that is so not the goal. I am now encountering those that are offended by my confidence, self- assurance and downright feeling good about myself. I want to send the message that I will not be moved and I want to welcome you all to do the same. So tired of hearing: “She thinks she’s cute”, “He thinks he’s all that”, and the infamous “Who Does She Think She Is?”
I’m gonna tell you who she is. She is someone that has been through things that not even a Tyler Perry movie could put nicely. So excuse me for still feeling good enough to fight another day and for feeling better about myself today than I did yesterday after surviving some of the most atrocious things you couldn’t even imagine.
I have created a line of shirts to address it, please don’t be offended by the word BITCH, I have chosen to empower it. I once heard someone making it an acronym for Being In Total Control of Herself,I loved it and so that is what it means to me.
If you were wondering what these shirts are about, I want you to know that I have dedicated them to those that get so flustered when I walk into a room choosing to wear my smile and good will as opposed to being bitter because I have endured.
DEDICATED TO THOSE OFFENDED BY OUR AUDACITY TO BE FABULOUS!
